STEP INTO SPRING

I may confess that Delpozo has me dreaming about all the possible ways to style my white shirt for Spring 2015.  I'm all about this timeless yet modern classic item which you can blend into your ensemble or make it stand out.  A crisp white shirt can elevate your attire and make it look polished and mature.  Just take a look at Carolina Herrera's signature look.  I took a first step into this trend by pairing it with my favorite skinny jeans --because a pair of well-fitted jeans can never go wrong.  

You might be wondering where did I get that clutch.  Well, a few months ago, a designer called   Ama Peña contacted me via email to introduce me to her designs.  She then sent me this clutch with a post card and a handwritten letter telling me the story behind her creations.  As a student, Peña figured out a way to make money without having to invest in expensive materials.  She took advantage of her old clothes to make clutches which made her very interested in pieces with a history behind them.  She moved to New York almost two years ago to follow her dreams which involved her passion for textiles and design.  Her amazing designs are proof that this designer has a good attention to details and the eye for good quality pieces.  This clutch in particular is the perfect addition to a sophisticated yet casual ensemble.  Want to know more about her work?  Follow Ama Peña on Instagram and like her page on Facebook.

The sun is out and another beautiful summer day at the island takes us by surprise. At this point you may have noticed what a tropical gal I am. I can never get tired of going to the beach and indulging in fruits and frozen treats. That said, you can imagine my face when I saw this top from Adriana Carolina's Clothing summer collection. It has my name all over it. A fun print of palms and pineapples floating on a baby blue background add a touch of sweetness and freshness to a sexy masterpiece done by the hands of the designer herself. I managed to create some 50's glamour style combining the top with this circle skirt and a pair of classic cateye sunglasses.   

I hope you enjoy what's left of these vacations and stay forever tropical!

Enjoy Local

Since the time I discovered how good coffee tasted, my first mission was to try them in every coffee shop around town and find the one with the best taste. Even though I haven't try them all yet, I came with the conclusion that the best coffee I could ever taste is the one made in local coffee shops who use the coffee cultivated here in our country. Thanks to that experience, I started to focus on local products as well as local independent artists. So I decided to create a new section called Shop Local.

 The T-Shirt I'm wearing here is a design from De Tripas y Corazones by an artist who I spotted at a fair, where he was selling his art. I found interesting and original how he recreates inside body parts with engraving and silkscreen making it very fun. Also, I admire the way he takes advantage of his art making not only posters and T-Shirts, but he also collaborates with Dulce Calavera (another local artist) who makes handmade handbags.

PineappleHeart

The city of San Juan, Puerto Rico is very different from my hometown, Aguadilla. Although, they are just two hours apart, the people, the streets and the ambient are very different from each other. Since I moved to the city, my perspective in life has changed. I'm now studying journalism and my interest in fashion has grown even bigger. Now I have a blog, I'm an intern at a local magazine, I'm a college Athlete, and I'm working hard to have good grades. 

 Last weekend, while visiting my hometown, I had a meeting with a very talented jewelry designer called Daniela Siri, with whom I have been interested to collaborate for a while now. We talked about her brand called PineappleHeart and the new collection she's working on, Ge0. This collection is based on geometric shapes made with different types of stones and wire. If you're looking for a bohemian touch in your ensemble, PineappleHeart is exactly what you need.   

I'm in love with my new jewelry pieces. Now, I have a perfect accessory which I can incorporate to my outfits and that reminds me of where I come from; that unique and neighborly small town with such amazing beaches and free spirited lifestyle.
